Vic Rose Barra 2
"May your boat drink 6, eat 4, and sleep 2.Victoria Rose fits that bill perfectly for us- even though we've managed to have 12 guests below for drinks in the dead of winter, 16 aboard for dinner on Cindy's 50th birthday, and 6 aboard for a vaction and passage down the coast of Washington. What drew us to the Tayana? The boat just said 'yes' to us. Besides being quite seaworthy and having good performance, the design and layout felt like 'home'. Victoria Rose has a large v-berth forward (queen size) with a latex foam mattress with memory foam topper. Super comfortable. She has a separate stall shower in the head. Lots of headroom throughout. Great navigation station with chart table, nice galley with a freezer and refrigerator. In short, it seems that the original owner designed the boat just for us. She is a very comfortable passage maker and still maintains the 'homey' atmosphere below.

About the Boat
"Victoria Rose" is a Tayana 37' cutter rigged sailboat designed in Seattle by Bob Perry and built in Taiwan by the Ta Yang boatyard. Since the introduction of the Tayana 37 in 1975, over 500 have been built.   The boat is still in limited production.  At one point, there were more Tayana 37's actively cruising than any other single model boat.  'Victoria Rose' is a Mk II model, hull number 384, and built in 1983. She is of heavy fiberglass construction, full keel w/cutaway forefoot, fiberglass decks, and aluminum spars.   Another 'plus' for Tayana boats is an active and strong owners group to share information and for networking.  Tayana 37 Boat reviews are in our 'Dowloads' page.
With 'Victoria Rose', we have truely found that "wherever we are in the world, when we go below.... we're home."
